Heifer International is using a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to fund a national initiative aimed at helping U.S. immigrants overcome a number of barriers to becoming self-reliant farmers. During the first 4 years of a 10-year initiative, Heifer will be supporting 12 projects and estimates that each project will reach 100 immigrant farmers.
