Market News
Last Saturday saw a new vendor at the market, and they will be at the AFM all winter long. Fields of Grace, run by
Chester and Carol Beahm. They make hard and soft cheeses with milk fresh from their herd of 80 Jersey cows. They also
offer cheese curds in five flavors: original, onion, garden herb, ranch, and sun dried tomato and basil. The regular cheeses
include feta, mozzarella, Camembert, mild cheddar, chive cheddar, caraway cheddar, horseradish cheddar, and aged cheddar,
gouda, and smoked gouda. Be sure to stop by and welcome this new vendor.
Just a reminder, a number of vendors are planning to be at the market on the 10th and 17th for your holiday preparations.
The Winter Market will kick off in January.
Fresh at the Market
Round out your holiday decorating at the Arlington Farmers Market this weekend and next. Several vendors offer wreaths,
garland and boughs, and pinecones. Check out the goose-gourds and gourd birdhouses.
Sylvan Farms will still be taking deposits this weekend for trees to be delivered the 17th.
Tip of the Month
If you are planning on getting a tree this season, you’ll want to consult VCE Publication 420-641, “Selection and Care of
Christmas Trees” Available on-line and in PDF format, it offers valuable information on picking a tree and keeping through
the winter.
