Still Fresh at the Market

Begin your Holiday shopping this weekend at the Arlington Farmers Market with a wide variety of baked and canned products to fill your gift lists for the office, stocking stuffers, and hostess presents throughout the holiday season. Keep some extra on hand for those surprise drop-ins or forgotten second cousins. What you don’t give away, you’re sure to use yourself. And start looking for seasonal greens for you holiday decorating.

Although a few of the farmers have wrapped up for the year, many of the vendors will be setting-up the Saturday after Thanksgiving and the first several weeks of December.

Among the vendors waiting for you this Saturday will be Blue Highland Dairy and Blue Ridge Dairy with milk and cheese. Takoma Kitchens, Atwater Breads, and Sylvan Farms with tasty baked goods. EcoFriendly Foods and Smith Meadow Farm are planning to be there with their meats –ask ahead for your holiday needs.

Endless Summer Farm, which you remember from the Winter market, is back with their hydroponic, indoor grown greens and herbs.

Look for Rice Fruit Farm, Gardeners Gourmet, Twin Springs Fruit Farm, and Toigo Orchard staying on despite the cooler weather.

Patterson Farms will be selling syrups on the 3rd and 10th.

Mount Harmony will be selling scented soups thru the 17th.

EcoFriendly Foods, Landovel Farm, D&S Farms and the ushrooms lady will be skipping this Saturday, but back December 3rd. That will be the final weekend for D&S. Other vendors may be taking off Christmas and/or New Year’s Eves.

We of course will miss Leedstown Farm, Laurel Grove Farm, Westmorland Farm, Wollman Gardens, and Potomac Vegetable Farm and others who have ended their season, but are looking forward to coming back in the Spring.

Our apologies if we’ve failed to mention any of your favorite vendors.

Skip the mall mobs, and come to the Arlington Farmers Market this Saturday to get your shopping done!!
